Hello Sacajawea students and families,

Second semester is getting ready to begin.  I'm excited to share some great learning by all of our students.  We are seeing great growth in the areas of Math and Reading this year.  Our new math curriculum is showing some promising results.  Engage your students at home and have them show and tell you what they are doing in the classrooms.  I'm learning so much with them.  The reading resource we began four years ago is beginning to show benefits in the upper grades.  We are excited to see so much growth in our students.

Our teachers are working hard each day to engage students with relevant learning in all subjects.  We appreciate your support in making sure that students are well rested, fed, and ready to be the best version of themselves each day.  Talk to your students each day about the expectations you have for them.

Please use the crosswalks when picking up and dropping off students in the morning and afternoons.  We have a large amount of traffic around the school during those times.  Practice with your children what it looks like to use the crosswalks.  The new parking lot flow is going great.  Thank you for all the support in allowing our busses more space and time to drop off students.

We continue to work on the challenge of growing all students.  Literacy and Math will continue to be our main focus, as well as our Student Accountability plans with Responsibility Centered Discipline.  We have made great growth since the beginning of the year and are looking forward to even more in the coming semester.

Our goal this year is for 80% proficiency in Literacy and Math in all students, decreased behavior incidents, and increased opportunities for students to show accountability and leadership.  We will also strive to have an average weekly attendance of 95%.  We understand that life has twists and turns, so any support we can provide to help your student get to school on time each and every day please let us know.

We are looking forward to a great year at Sacajawea.
